Mauritius target potential Indian’s tertiary education investors

Rajesh JEETAH, Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, back to Mauritius after his mission in India. He met with potential investors and senior educators renowned in Delhi and Mumbai during his participation in the 'Times Education Boutique 2010'. He took the opportunity to present our country as a center of higher education in the region, in line with the government's objective of encouraging investment in this sector and attract foreign students.
 
For the minister, the sector has all the qualities to become a pillar of the economy, stirring almost one billion dollars annually. Such an initiative would replenish state coffers. Rajesh JEETAH wants every Mauritian family has at least a graduate of 2015 and the enrolment in tertiary education from 43% to 70%. By 2020, our country aspires to draw 100,000 foreign students enrolled in our tertiary institutions.

Another project which is very expensive is that the university remains open until 22 hours. A committee was subsequently established with the various parties to assess and implement this pilot project. 

The Minister had also met Kapil Sibal, Minister of Human Resources and Development of India, Rajesh Ankushrao Tope, Minister of Higher and Technical Education of Maharashtra state, and Rahul Gandhi, MP, Secretary of Committee of All India Congress Committee.
